Music enrichment and performances

Sacred Heart Harmonies

Sacred Heart Harmonies is our fantastic school choir.

This is open to all pupils in the school and gives pupils an opportunity to learn to sing in a range of different musical genres such as soul, RnB, funk, religious pieces for Mass, popular music and songs from the musicals.  Pupils learn how to sing in three-part harmony and get the experience of performing in front of large audiences at Christmas, in church and outside of school to the local community and public.

Brass Band

All pupils who partake in Brass instrumental lessons play in our very successful brass band, which is run on a Wednesday lunchtime.

The brass band perform regularly at concerts in and out of school, performing pieces such as Breakdance Brass, Rocky, Mission Impossible and James Bond.

Rock Band

Pupils learn how to work together as a group of musicians in order to improve their listening skills through performing pieces such as popular songs like Uptown Funk, Billie Jean, Get Lucky and Hysteria.

Pupils who learn guitar, bass, piano, kit and vocals are welcome to join on a Thursday after school and perform at the Summer Concert and in charity week.

School Musical

The school production occurs annually and runs from September until February.

Every year a full production is created for three nights in the school hall with professional lighting, sound, costumes and music. Recent productions have been very successful such as: Oliver, Aladdin, A Night at the Musicals, Hairspray, Jungle Book, Annie, Cinderella, Beauty & the Beast, Treasure Island, The Lion King and Midsummer Nights Dream. This includes children from Years 7 to 10 and often has cast sizes of up to 60 pupils.
